David vs David

Just watched American Idol. My Cookie kinda disappointed me tonight. I was waiting for him to blow me away but he didn't which makes me a little sad. I really wanna blog about it but i can't seem to put what i'm feeling into words right now. So, i got this from TVFan. It basically sums up everything.


David VS David. The finale everyone predicted.

Things started off promising...DC filling out the robe nicely, getting into the part with some fairly convincing air boxing moves. Has anyone determined if Hotness has chest hair? I now need to know this. Immediately. I'm thinking yes. And wow, I completely LOVE the gray shirt jacket thing Cookie McHottie is wearing and my, he has lost quite a bit of weight the last few weeks. Of course whenever Ryan asks a general question Hotness is the one to answer. The Fetus' responses are limited to "uhh ...gosh ...dream ...gosh ..." Bad boxing analogies are thrust upon us from every side.

DC to sing U2's "I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For." This starts out promising. I would have preferred if he did this without the "C'mon" and into the crowd thing. It was good though. Randy: We boys, right?! Hot, baby! Paula has found what she's looking for and is about to hump DC's leg. Simon: DC is tense and emotional, but came through.

Fetus(David A) is singing "Don't Let the Sun Go Down on Me." Uh-oh, he's on tonight. (Please note that i'm not the one calling him fetus. The girl who wrote this is) I think Fetus does a good job, but suffers by comparison. Randy: "Best performance of the season (?) Flawless (?) Right time to peak!" Didn't he say that to Syesha the week she was voted off? Paula: Chills and heart pounding. Maybe if she was wearing clothes it would help. Simon: Fetus' best ever. Round one to the Fetus. Fetus is literally rendered speechless. I wonder if he'll be able to sing again.

Original song contest. Let me audibly groan. What purpose does this serve, really? Can't we just have Diane Warren write a friggin song? Or better yet, let's let the CONTESTANTs write their own songs. Then we'll see who the real artist is.

DC sang "This Song Blows" (That's not the real title of course. It was actually called 'Dream Big') and luckily he put his trademark slur on the lyrics so we couldn't really tell what dreck he was singing. I enjoyed the rockout on guitar and the big note at the end. Randy: song OK, DC singing face off. Paula: we are in awe and mesmerized (agreed). Simon: lightweight, not a winning moment. Ry asks DC "how you feelin' right now?" And he replies "I'm playing in front of 7000 people, I feel great."

The Fetus sings "This Song Also Blows." (Again not the real title. It was called 'In This Moment') Randy: Something original. "Dude, you can sing the phonebook!" Paula: "You're on fire tonight." Simon: Fetus chose the better song. Round 2 to the Fetus.

Contestants choice. I'm totally stoked! I LOVE this song. I don't love the hair. It's now looking like Ryan's hair on steroids. But Hotness is giving us a CFM look, and a smile, so all is forgiven. Wow, DC is crying. Seems just overwhelmed with emotion. Is it the 7,000 screaming fans? Or is he worried that he hasn't done enough tonight to win? It's very touching though. I just love, love, love this guy. Once again I just want to give him a big hug. He's really, really trying hard not to lose it. Simon says what we all know: "I just want to say publically that you are one of the nicest most sincere contestants we've ever had." I KNEW all those smug comments were BS. And then of course he slams him...wrong song choice, blah, blah, blah. DC says, "This whole thing has been a progression, and I was looking at it as 'why do something I've already done?' " Amen brother.

Speaking of which...the Fetus (surprise!) rehashes "Imagine" yet again, and not nearly as well as the first time. Judges all loved it. Randy: "Best singer on Season 7 is right there!" Paula: Stunning. Simon: tonight we've witnessed one of the great finals...Fetus came out to win, and what we have witnessed is a knockout.

The sites have all sorts of theories, including that Simon was trying to motivate DC's complacent fan base to vote. This sounds kind of far-fetched though.

If there was a knockout tonight, it was the culmination of David Cook's season long dominance of the competition. He put his heart and soul into every performance and I can't thank him enough for the hours of enjoyment and excitement he's given me.

I'm sure right now David Cook thinks he lost American Idol. I hope tomorrow night he learns that his fans have come through for him and that being the nicest and most sincere contestant, as well as the most talented, brave and original, actually means something. In many ways, that would be a more fitting ending to this saga than if he had been the clear winner tonight.

Best of luck, David Cook. You're quite a man, and I for one thank you for everything. Oh yeah...and you're really hot :)

Okay, i'm not exactly as optimistic as she is. But i sure hope she's right. (Now i'm presuming this person's a she looking at the way DC is being described) Plus, reading her article definitely made me feel much better. I kinda summarized it 'cos it was way too long. Though she is being a little too harsh on Archie here. I think he did great tonight. Better than I would've expected. But i'm still all for my Papa Bear. :)

Of course, it won't be the end of the world if David A wins it. David Cook or shall i say 'Hotness' would still be very successful and i am soooo getting his album. Heard a few songs off his first album, Analog Heart by the way. Pretty good. Sorta makes me wonder why on earth he hasn't been signed yet.


This is why i call him Papa Bear. Okay, y'all think i'm crazy now but i think he does look like a bear. This was from Mariah Carey week i think.
